About

This blog is all about travelling and English. I know it’s quite hard to imagine how they have close relationship so that you can mix it into a combination. Let me tell you the reasons I have.
For me, travelling is like a dream. Very sweet dream that I always dream about it even during the day light when I’m not sleeping, but I can’t make it into reality yet. It’s not an easy dream to reach, since travelling is very expensive. It is expensive in the name of money and chance. I am sure that you understand what I mean. So, let me explain about it…. I have some money and it’s enough for travelling, if only I manage it well. The problem why I can’t use it for travelling is because I need it for more important reasons. I’m not telling you that travelling isn’t important for me, but that’s it. I just have so many other important things to deal with my money. (Don’t you think I’m trying to tell an alibi?)
Travelling is also expensive in the name of chance. It’s really not easy to find the right time for us for holiday. My children must go to school from Monday to Saturday and so must I and my husband. Sunday is holiday for us but unfortunately, my husband often goes to another city for our business. And I never dream to spend the holiday somewhere without him. During the school holiday is the perfect day for me and my children, but again it’s not for their daddy.
English for me is another dream. I desperately want to see other parts of the world, so that I decided to learn English. Once, I wanted to work for travel business so that I can go around the world. But, I have messed up my life and fortunately I become an English teacher.

So, now you know the relationship between these two subjects especially from my point of view. Once, English was a tool for me to reach my dream. It has been long time since then….and I have made up my mind then. Now, I wanna go around the world by opening and clicking the window of the world that I have. Even though I don’t see the places for real, but I can see and imagine them. And I wanna share what I see and tell others with the language I learnt. Some visitors of my blogs will be interested in the places and some others will learn English through the story and description I wrote. And some others I hope will realize that they must try so hard to reach their DREAMS, so that they won’t be like me.

5 Waterfalls in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia

Magelang is a beautiful city in Central Java. Despite the icon of Borobudur which is the biggest temple ever and the city of mountain, Magelang also has many beautiful spots worth to visit. Here are some waterfalls that are recommended for you to spend during holiday time.

1. Sekar Langit Waterfall

Sekar Langit Waterfall is a beautiful site which is worth to visit. It is about 30 meters in height and situated in the slope of Telomoyo Mountain, in the district of Grabag, in Magelang Regency. In order to reach this place, we need to walk about 500 meters long on the edge of the river and pass a bridge of bamboo and iron. The cool air, shady spot and green trees are so refreshing, so that we will enjoy bathing and playing there with our family or spouse for hours. Although the facility is still limited, but we won't regret to spent our precious time there due to the limited visitors. So, when you visit Magelang this spot will make you feel bathing in your private waterfall.

2. Selo Projo Waterfall

This waterfall is situated on the slope of Telomoyo Mountain, in Seloprojo Village, Ngablak District, Magelang Regentcy. It is also called Sumuran (well) since there is a 8-10 meters depth hole looks like well nearby the site. Seloprojo Waterfall is about 35 meters height.
Although we need to pass challenging and slippery path in order to reach this place, but the beauty and freshness of the clean water will wash away our weariness.

3. Grenjengan Kembar (Twin Waterfall)

Grenjengan Kembar is the name of waterfall situated in Dusun Citran, Muneng Warangan village, Pakis District, Magelang Regency.  Grenjengan means waterfall in Javanesse, and kembar means twins. It is named so, because in this spot there are two waterfalls which are alike and close to each other.

This waterfall has upper course from Merbabu mountain and it depends on the season. I suggest you visit this spot in rainy season, so that you can enjoy the best scenery with full debit of water. If you visit during dry season, you will see the small water and even dry river with so many big stones but almost no water at all.

4. Silawe Waterfall

Silawe Waterfall or Air Terjun Silawe is also called Curug Silawe is 60 meters height. It is situated at southern of Sumbing Mountain, precisely in Dusun Kopeng Kulon, Sutopati Village, Kajoran District, Magelang regency.
Beside Silawe waterfall, we can also visit  Curug Sigong (Sigong Waterfall) which is only 30 meters away from the first waterfall.
To reach this place, we can use two routes. The first route is from Magelang town - Bandongan - Kaliangkrik - Sutopati, whether the other route is Magelang town - Salaman - Kajoran -Sutopati.

5. Kedung Kayang Waterfall

Kedung kayang waterfall is situated in Wonolelo Village, Sawangan District, Magelang Regency. This site is at the border of Magelang and Boyolali Regency, and not too far from Ketep Pass. It's about 40 meters height. This waterfall has upper course from Merapi and Merbabu mountain, and that is the reason why the water supply won't depend on the season. Whether in rainy or dry season, the debit of water is not different.
If you want to reach this site and feel the fresh and clear water and it's natural surrounding, you must walk for several hundred meters. And guess what... it is said that behind the waterfall there is a cave that used to be a place for meditating. So, what are you waiting for? Be ready for this trip.
